This article describes how migration from the legacy Everbridge Mobile App (EMA) to the Everbridge 360™ App works, including platform differences between iOS and Android, when the in-app migration button is available, and how Member Portal configuration affects whether users are directed to Everbridge 360 or the Everbridge Public Safety app.
Description
The legacy Everbridge Mobile App (EMA) and the Everbridge 360 App both allow contacts to receive notifications, respond to messages, and access the Member Portal. The Everbridge 360 App is the newer solution intended to replace EMA over time and is available on iOS and Android platforms. It offers more comprehensive features, including global event tracking.
The supported migration path from EMA to Everbridge 360 is to use the in-app migration option in the legacy app. To do this, open Settings in EMA and choose Migrate to the new app. This migration button is currently only available on iOS devices.
For Android users, the recommended method is to download the Everbridge 360 app from the Google Play Store and log in using organization credentials after configuring the organization code.
Migration behavior is also affected by how Member Portal access is configured. When the Member Portal is used for public self-registration and public-facing Member Portal access, the legacy Everbridge mobile app and Member Portal are used. Quick Registration and Member Portal registration links currently provide access only to the legacy app. The Everbridge 360 app does not yet provide equivalent public Member Portal self-registration functionality.
If the legacy app displays the Everbridge Public Safety app instead of Everbridge 360, this typically occurs when the organization's Member Portal is set to open instead of private. To resolve this, change the Member Portal settings to private under the organization level settings (Member Portal > Portal type). After changing the setting, open the Everbridge mobile app settings and select Sync Settings to ensure proper app migration.
The Everbridge Public Safety app uses the EB Community-style login (email or phone) and does not rely on Member Portal credentials. In contrast, Member Portal credentials work for the legacy mobile apps and Everbridge 360.
Both EMA and Everbridge 360 can be further enhanced by configuring safety features, such as safety buttons, in the Everbridge 360 Apps via the Manager Portal.
