Do usernames in Everbridge Suite have to be unique?
Answer
Yes. Usernames are required to be unique across the entire Everbridge Suite and all its platforms, for both users and contacts.
Because usernames must be unique across the platform, it is possible for the same person to end up with multiple records if they are added or register through different methods. Each method can create a separate record with its own External ID, which may appear as an alphanumeric string on one of the records.
NOTES:
If a user record is deleted, the username may be reused immediately.
If a contact record is deleted, the username may be reused after 30 days at which time the contact record is removed from the Deleted Contacts tab under Manager Portal > Organization > Contacts > Deleted Contacts.
