Problem
When attempting to register the Everbridge Mobile App using a registration or quick registration link, the registration process may fail. Users can experience the following behaviors:
An HTTP Status 400 – BAD REQUEST error when opening the registration link.
A 404 error when trying to access the registration link.
Root Cause
The HTTP 400, 404, or similar errors during Everbridge Mobile App registration are typically caused by one or more of the following conditions:
Expired registration link: Registration links for the Everbridge app are time-limited. A 400 Bad Request when opening the link usually indicates the registration link has expired/ no longer valid.
Using someone else’s invitation link: Each registration link is unique to an individual contact record and cannot be shared. Attempting to use someone else's invitation link can result in an HTTP Status 400 – Bad Request error or a 404 error.
Email or contact changes: Registration links may not work if there have been changes in the email address associated with the contact record.
System configuration issues: System configuration issues related to the registration process can cause registration links to fail.
Technical issues with the registration process: Technical problems with the registration process itself can prevent successful use of the registration link.
Email filtering or permit listing issues: Technical issues with email filtering or permit listing can interfere with the registration link being recognized correctly.
Solution
To resolve HTTP 400 or 404 errors with the Everbridge Mobile App, follow these steps:
Verify the correct app and login method:
Confirm that the Everbridge Mobile app, not Everbridge 360, is downloaded.
If the quick registration link is not working or you cannot log in using an organization code, use the username and password created during the initial registration on the Everbridge Member Portal to sign in to the mobile app.
Check basic registration link requirements:
Ensure that you are using the registration link sent to the appropriate email address
Verify that you are clicking the registration link on a mobile device.
Confirm that the registration link is still within its active period
Try opening the link using a different web browser or a different mobile device.
Confirm you are using your own unique link:
Make sure you are using your own unique invitation link. Each registration link is unique to an individual contact record and cannot be shared.
Check for link expiration indicators:
If the link has expired (such as after 30 days), the token or parameters in the link will no longer be valid and will produce a 400 error.
Request a new registration link from your organization:
Your organization’s technical support team can provide a new registration link or resolve any account-related problems causing the registration to fail.
Everbridge Technical Support is not authorized to issue a new active registration link, cannot directly reset your account, and cannot resend the registration link. A new/active registration link must be obtained from the local Everbridge Organization Administrator, BCIM lead, Account Admin, Organization Admin, or your organization’s technical support team.
Verify contact details with your organization:
If you encounter repeated HTTP Status 400 – Bad Request or 404 errors, your organization’s administrator can verify that your email address and other contact information are correctly entered and configured in the system.
Workaround
If a new registration link is not immediately available or registration links continue to fail, the following workaround can be used when applicable:
Use the username and password created during the initial registration on the Everbridge Member Portal to sign in directly to the Everbridge Mobile app, instead of relying on the quick registration link.
If you still cannot sign in after using the created credentials, follow up with support as directed in your organization to investigate further configuration or account issues.
