Topic
SMS Sender ID registration requirements and options (including short code alternatives) in the Philippines.
Description
SMS Sender ID registration for the Philippines can be done through Everbridge by providing the required documents and/or forms. Depending on the type of business, different documents/forms will be required. See below for details.
If a dedicated local numeric short code cannot be obtained due to carrier or regulatory restrictions, an alphanumeric Sender ID can usually be configured as an alternative. Everbridge will coordinate the alphanumeric Sender ID registration with the downstream SMS provider, but acceptance of any numeric or alphanumeric Sender ID is ultimately determined by Philippine carriers and local regulations. Everbridge and its SMS providers cannot override carrier or regulatory decisions.
Types of Sender IDs with Registration Requirements
Client-dedicated sender IDs of types noted above require registration. Everbridge shared sender IDs, such as those noted in our Global SMS Codes page, are already registered appropriately and do not require any action.
Alphanumeric Sender ID Requirements
Refer to our Alphanumeric Sender ID for SMS Support Center article for general alphanumeric sender ID requirements.
To request or register an alphanumeric SMS Sender ID specifically for the Philippines via Everbridge:
Confirm that you are requesting a custom SMS Sender ID (display name), not a numeric caller ID.
In Everbridge Suite, go to Settings > Organization > Notifications > Sender Information to add or manage Sender IDs, and then work with Everbridge Technical Support to initiate the Philippines vendor registration process.
Be prepared to provide registration details, including: sample SMS message, estimated monthly volume, company website, company name, headquarters, company address, company field of activity, and a contact person (name, email, job title, phone).
Complete and return the registration/Letter of Authorization (LOA) documents provided (sections highlighted), on company letterhead, with an authorized signature and company stamp.
Confirm whether your organization has a local presence in the Philippines; this affects which specific documents are required.
Note: custom alphanumeric Sender IDs are display names shown on the handset; actual SMS delivery still uses Everbridge-managed short and long codes behind the scenes.
Registration Process
Begin by downloading the "SMS Sender ID Registration - Philippines.zip" file found at the bottom of this article. Extract the contents and fill out the appropriate documents based on the criteria noted below. Once all forms are completed they should be returned to our Technical Support team.
