Security Notice: Strong Passwords Best Practices

Keeping Your Passwords Safe

Description

With cybersecurity threats constantly evolving, it is important to stay one step ahead. Here are some key best practices that can help keep your information secure and your accounts protected.

  1. Credential Uniqueness: Do not reuse passwords across different sites or services. If one service is compromised, attackers may use stolen credentials to access your platform (credential stuffing).

  1. Protect Your Passwords: Passwords are personal and should not be shared. If you suspect a password has been exposed or compromised, it must be changed immediately.

  1. Password Manager Usage: Use a password manager to generate and store strong, unique credentials for each service. Avoid writing passwords down or reusing weak ones.

  1. Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): Enable MFA by default, preferably using TOTP apps (e.g., Google Authenticator) or hardware keys.

  1. Single Sign-On (SSO): Offer SSO integration (e.g., via SAML) clients to reduce password fatigue and centralize access control. This aligns with Zero Trust principles and simplifies user onboarding/offboarding.
