How to configure single sign-on (SSO) for use with the Everbridge ManageBridge App.
Description
Overview
Setting up SSO for the Everbridge ManageBridge App consists of the following tasks:
-
Configure SSO for the Manager Portal
-
Enable the use of SSO for the ManageBridge App
-
Test the ManageBridge App SSO Configuration
Configure SSO for the Manager Portal
Note: Do not skip this step. Enabling SSO for the Manager Portal does not automatically enable it for the ManageBridge App. Enabling SSO for the ManageBridge App is a separate step and can only be done if the Manager Portal has been configured for SSO.
Follow all steps in knowledge article EBS: Configuring Single Sign-On (SSO) for Use With the Everbridge Manager Portal.
Enable the use of SSO for the ManageBridge App
Once the Manager Portal SSO has been configured, enable SSO for the ManageBridge Mobile App as follows:
-
Log in to the Everbridge Manager Portal as an Account Administrator
-
Select Settings > Security > Single Sign-On for Manager Portal
-
Toggle Enable Single Sign-On for ManageBridge
-
Enter a Key Phrase. Note: the Key Phrase is controlled at the Account level and will be the same for all Organizations under that Account.
-
Click Save
Test the ManageBridge App SSO Configuration
-
In the ManageBridge mobile app tap Enable Single-Sign On.
-
On the next screen enter your Key Phrase. Once you have entered your Key Phrase, you will be redirected to a login page where you enter your IdP credentials.
Additional Information
-
Users may need to enter the key phrase each time they log in due to integration with the organization's mobile device management (MDM) system.
-
When using SSO, the Everbridge app may open in a Chrome window and prompt users to open it in the app. This is expected behavior with SSO and MDM integration. Select 'Yes' to open the app and complete the authentication process.
If Users are unable to log in to ManageBridge via SSO
Follow the same troubleshooting steps outlined in knowledge article EBS: Configuring Single Sign-On (SSO) for Use With the Everbridge Manager Portal.
If users are unable to reset their password using the 'Forgot Password' option, they may still be able to access the App using SSO. Instruct them to look for the 'Enable Single Sign-On' option on the login screen and enter the provided key phrase to authenticate with their existing SSO credentials.
