How to format text in messages.
Description
It is possible to copy and paste text from other sources into the message form of a notification but this can introduce format issues. As a best practice, copy/paste any text into a simple text editor. (Such as NotePad++) Then re-copy the text from the simple text editor and paste it into the message form in a notification.
When copying and pasting text containing hyperlinks, some links may not be properly preserved. To ensure all hyperlinks are maintained, use the following method:
- For PC users: Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + V to paste text without formatting.
- For Mac users: Use the keyboard shortcut Option + Command + Shift + V to paste text without formatting.
This will help ensure that the hyperlinks are properly preserved when the text is pasted into the Everbridge platform.
For rich text formatting and preserving hyperlinks, it is recommended to select the checkbox for Include a separate message for email notifications and to paste any rich text in the designated text box.
For information on including hyperlinks in email messages see knowledge article EBS: How to Include an Email Address Hyperlink in the Message Body of a Notification in Everbridge Suite.
