NOTE: Contact Upload file failure error messages may be viewed under Contacts + Assets > Contacts >  Uploads > . Clicking on the  icon next to the desired upload file brings you to the Upload Results page where the error is displayed.

Root Cause

This error means that a Record Type was not provided for the contact. 

Solution

Please ensure that each contact in your upload file has a value for the Record Type column. This Record Type must be defined in the settings or the file will receive the following error described in knowledge article EBS: Contact Upload Error Code: 'Record Type is Not Defined'.

The following file would cause the above errors because a Record Type was not provided for this contact.

The following file shows what a corrected upload file would look like. Each contact has a Record Type defined and the record type 'Staff' has been defined in the Organization Settings.
