EBS: What Does the Delivery Order Setting Do for Notifications in Everbridge Suite?

Question

What does the delivery order setting do for notifications in Everbridge Suite?

Answer

There are three different delivery order modes in Everbridge Suite settings:

  • Organization Default: uses the sequence specified in the organization's settings tab for notification delivery methods. This allows you to define a default delivery order for all notifications sent from your organization.
  • Contact Preferred: uses the sequence specified in each contact's record
  • One Time Custom: uses the sequence specified at a notification's creation, and overrides all other preferences. This is useful when you want to apply a specific order to a particular group or record type without affecting others.

To set the default delivery order mode for notifications, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to the Manager Portal and select the desired organization from the upper right-hand corner.
  2. Click the Settings tab from the top of the page.
  3. Click Notifications from the left.
  4. Click Default Options from the sub-menu.
  5. From the dropdown menu next to Delivery Order, select the desired default delivery order mode.
  6. Click Save.

Note: If you need to apply a specific delivery order to a particular record type (e.g., "DA Storm") without affecting other record types, you can use the "One Time Custom" delivery order option when sending notifications to that group. Alternatively, you can set the delivery order individually for each contact in the specific record type and restrict their ability to edit it on the Member Portal.
