How to send notifications to delivery methods in a specific order in Everbridge Suite.

Description

An organization or account administrator defines the default sequence of delivery methods that notifications are sent to. The order can be modified with the following steps:

  1. Log in to the Manager Portal and select your Organization.
  2. Click on the Settings tab from the top of the page.
  3. From the Organization sub-tab, click on the Notifications menu item from the left-hand side of the page.
  4. Under the Notifications section, click on Delivery Methods.
  5. Set the sequence by raising or lowering the positions of the delivery methods with the Up Icon White Background or Down Icon White Background icons.

From the same page, additional delivery methods can be added to the sequence by following these steps:

  1. Click on the Select Code drop-down menu and select the code of the delivery method from the drop-down menu.
  2. Enter a name for the delivery method under Prompt for the code.
  3. Click Add and the new delivery method is added.

A delivery method can only be deleted from an organization if no contact has the delivery method assigned to their profile. To delete a delivery method, first remove it from any contact profiles utilizing it and then follow the steps listed below:

  1. Click the trash icon next to the desired delivery method.
  2. Click Yes to confirm deletion.

Delivery method quiet periods and statuses can be enabled by checking the checkbox for Allow members to turn delivery methods on/off and specify quiet periods. See knowledge article EBS: Enabling Delivery Method Quiet Times in Everbridge Suite for information on enabling this feature.

One Time Custom Delivery Method Order

The sequence of delivery methods can also be changed when a notification is created to suit a specific instance:

  1. Log in to the Manager Portal and select the desired organization from the upper left-hand corner.
  2. Click the Notifications tab from the top of the page.
  3. Click New Notification.
  4. Click on Edit from the Settings section of the new notification. 
  5. From Delivery Order, select One Time Custom from the drop-down menu.
  6. Set the sequence by raising or lowering the positions of the delivery methods with the Up Icon White Background or Down Icon White Background icons.

Using the One Time Custom delivery order will only affect the sequence for the current notification and will not change the default sequence.

Member Portal Re-order Delivery Methods

If the organization utilizes a Member Portal, contacts can change the sequence of their delivery methods. To enable contacts the ability to change the sequence of their delivery methods follow the steps listed below:

  1. Log in to the Manager Portal and select your Organization.
  2. Click on the Settings tab from the top of the page.
  3. Click on the Member Portal sub-tab.
  4. Click on Information Collection from the left-hand side of the page.
  5. Click on Delivery Methods from the sub-menu.
  6. Select the checkbox next to Allow Members to re-order delivery methods.
  7. Click Save.

Once contacts are allowed to change the sequence of their delivery methods, they can do so by following these steps:

  2. Click Edit from the My Profile section.
  3. Set the sequence by raising or lowering the positions of the delivery methods with the Up Icon White Background or Down Icon White Background icons.
  4. Click Save.
