EBS: How to Delete an Incident Template Category That Is Being Used in Incident Communications


How to delete an incident template category that is being used in Everbridge Suite Incident Communications.


Follow the steps below to delete an incident template category in Everbridge Suite:

  1. Log in to the Manager Portal and select the desired organization from the upper right-hand corner.
  2. Click on the Incidents tab from the top menu bar.
  3. Click the Templates sub-tab.
  4. Navigate to the Category column.
  5. Click on any entry in the Category column, i.e. an already existing category name or the '---' symbol that represents no Category.

Note in the example below, you may click on one of the existing category names, 'Employee' or 'Animals', or the '---' symbol:

  1. A pop-up menu appears:

  1. To remove the category, click the trash icon next to the desired category.

  1. Answer Yes to the question "Are you sure you want to delete the selected category(ies)?
  2. Click Close.
