Question
When using a telephone to create a voice recording for a notification, which number should I dial?
Can I use a telephone to create a voice recording for a notification if I am not in the United States or the United Kingdom?
Answer
Toll-free numbers are generally specific to their countries of origin, and can only be guaranteed to be reliably accessible and toll-free when called by a number from the same country. Calling a toll-free number from a different country is not recommended as the number might be inaccessible due to call routing and phone interconnection between the two countries.
Everbridge recommends its customers adhere to the following:
- The United States toll-free record by phone number should only be used when calling from phone lines/numbers based in the United States.
- The United Kingdom toll-free record by phone number should only be used when calling from phone lines/numbers based in the United Kingdom.
- Customers calling from any country other than the United States and the United Kingdom may use the direct phone number, but can also create a voice recording for a notification by:
- using the Everbridge recorder
- uploading a file
- using text to speech
