EBS: Configuring IPAWS for Use With Everbridge

Topic

Configuring IPAWS for use with Everbridge.

Description

Configuring IPAWS in an Everbridge organization will allow you to send IPAWS alerts. Configuration includes:

Integrating IPAWS Credentials

IPAWS credentials are distributed to an alerting authority by FEMA. The credentials are packaged as an IPAWS certificate that can be stored and used in Everbridge organizations. Integrating IPAWS credentials into Everbridge consists of:

  1. Uploading an IPAWS certificate
  2. Storing credentials associated with that certificate
  3. Accessing your Collaborative Operating Group (COG)

See knowledge article EBS: Integrating IPAWS Credentials Into an Everbridge Organization for a step-by-step guide to integrating your IPAWS credentials with Everbridge.

Configuring IPAWS Settings

Once your certificate and credentials have been integrated into Everbridge, there are several remaining settings to be defined:

  1. SAME Codes
  2. Sender Agency Names
  3. Default Field Settings

See knowledge article EBS: Configuring IPAWS Settings in an Everbridge Organization for a step-by-step guide to setting up your IPAWS settings.

Sending a Notification

Once your IPAWS setup is complete, you may send IPAWS alerts using the notification options available in Mass Notifications and Incident Communications.
