Everbridge 360™ App and OS Version Enforcement (Beta)

Version enforcement

Version enforcement lets an organization require users to run the latest available version of the Everbridge 360 app and specify the minimum operating system versions on which the app can run.

Two policies are configured independently:

• Everbridge 360 App Version Enforcement — requires users to run the latest available version of Everbridge 360.
• Operating System Version Enforcement — requires devices to meet a minimum operating system version that you specify.

When a device is non-compliant, the app shows an Update required message. During the grace period, the user can dismiss the message and continue using the app. After the grace period expires, the message can no longer be dismissed and access to the app is blocked until the user updates the app or device operating system.

Before you begin

Version enforcement is currently in beta. Contact Everbridge Support to enable it for your organization.

Version enforcement requires Everbridge 360 app version 26.8.0 or later.

Important: After the grace period expires, users who do not meet the configured version requirements cannot use Everbridge 360, including to receive or respond to notifications. Before enabling enforcement, confirm that your device fleet can meet the requirements and consider starting with a longer grace period.

Open the Security settings

1. Sign in to Everbridge Suite and select the required organization.
2. Go to Settings > Everbridge Mobile App > Security.

The page contains two sections: Everbridge 360 App Version Enforcement and Operating System Version Enforcement.

Configure app version enforcement

Use this section to require users to run the latest available version of Everbridge 360.

1. In the Everbridge 360 App Version Enforcement section, turn on the Is enforced toggle.
2. Select a Grace period. This is the amount of time users have to update before access to Everbridge 360 is blocked.
3. Select Save.

Configure operating system version enforcement

Use this section to set the minimum operating system version required for Everbridge 360 on each platform. Unlike app version enforcement, which uses the latest available app version, OS enforcement lets you specify the minimum supported version for each platform.

1. In the Operating System Version Enforcement section, turn on the Is enforced toggle.
2. Select a Grace period. This is the amount of time users have to update their device OS before access to Everbridge 360 is blocked.
3. Enter the minimum version for each platform you want to enforce (Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows).
4. Leave a platform empty to disable version enforcement for that platform.
5. Select Save.

Accepted version formats

• Enter versions as major, major.minor, or major.minor.patch — for example 14, 17.4, or 14.6.1.
• For Windows, enter the version as Major.Build, such as 10.19045 for Windows 10 or 11.22631 for Windows 11. Enter a single value only.
• An empty value means that operating system enforcement is disabled for that platform.

What users experience

If non-compliance is detected, the app shows a full-screen message.

• During the grace period — the message includes a Dismiss for now option. The user can continue using the app, and the message returns approximately every hour.
• After the grace period — the message can no longer be dismissed. The user must update the app or the device operating system before they can use Everbridge 360 again.

Users with more than one account signed in

Everbridge 360 evaluates version enforcement for every signed-in account. If any account requires the app to be blocked, the restriction applies to the entire app on that device. The user can access the app again after all applicable version requirements are met.
