Incident Subscription subscriber management in Everbridge Suite

Description

Incident Subscriptions associate contacts or groups with configured incident criteria. When an incident meets the criteria for a subscription, the associated subscribers can be included as recipients of the incident notification.

A subscription can contain multiple combinations of incident criteria. Subscribers are managed for the applicable combination.

Access Incident Subscriptions

Incident Subscriptions are available from the organization settings in the Manager Portal.

  1. Sign in to the Manager Portal.
  2. Go to Settings > Organization > Contacts and Groups.
  3. Select Incident Subscriptions.
  4. Select the applicable subscription.

Depending on the organization configuration, Contacts/Assets may appear instead of Contacts and Groups.

Access to Incident Subscriptions and contacts depends on the permissions and contact visibility assigned to the administrator's role.

Manage subscribers

Contacts and groups can be associated with an Incident Subscription combination.

To review or change the subscribers for a combination:

  1. Open Incident Subscriptions.
  2. Select the applicable subscription.
  3. Locate the applicable combination.
  4. Select Add or View in the Subscriber column.
  5. Review the subscribers in the Manage Subscribers window.
  6. Add or remove the applicable contacts or groups.
  7. Save the changes.

Subscribers associated with a matching combination can receive the incident notification when incident subscribers are included as recipients.

Incident notification configuration

Incident Subscriptions identify contacts and groups that meet the configured subscription criteria. The Incident Template must also be configured to include Incident Subscribers as recipients for those subscribers to receive the notification.

Other recipient-selection methods, including contacts configured directly in an Incident Template and contact-selection rules, are separate from Incident Subscription subscriber management.

Member Portal subscriptions

Incident Subscriptions can be made available in the Member Portal when the applicable Member Portal subscription options are configured.

Depending on the subscription configuration, contacts can manage available subscriptions from My Subscriptions in the Member Portal.

Administrator-managed subscriptions

Administrators can associate contacts or groups with applicable subscription combinations in the Manager Portal.

Member-managed subscriptions

Subscriptions configured for Member Portal self-service allow members to select and manage available subscription combinations from the Member Portal.

Member-managed subscriptions require the member to opt in. Administrators do not perform the Member Portal opt-in on behalf of the member.

Important considerations

Incident Subscription behavior can depend on organization configuration, permissions, and the Incident Template configuration.

The list of subscribers associated with a subscription combination is managed from Incident Subscriptions rather than from the incident launch or preview screen.

Contact-selection rules and Incident Subscription subscribers are separate recipient-selection methods. Review the applicable Incident Template and subscription configuration when validating the expected recipients.
