This article describes how Visual Command Center (VCC) alert/message links behave when users have access to multiple Everbridge Suite / VCC organizations, how default organizations affect which VCC org opens, and how VCC account visibility is controlled at the account level.

Description

VCC message links are specific to the organization where the alert was generated. When a link is created in VCC, it is bound to the VCC/Everbridge Suite organization that generated the alert. When a user clicks the link, Everbridge checks whether the user is currently logged in to that specific organization.

The link will open as expected only if the user is logged into the same organization that generated the alert. If the user is not logged in at all, the system redirects the user to log in first. If the user is logged into a different VCC organization than the one that generated the alert, the link will fail to open the alert and may redirect to a different organization instead.

Users who have access to multiple organizations must ensure they are logged into the same VCC/Everbridge Suite organization that generated the alert before clicking a message link. If a user is logged into a different organization, links from the original organization will not open correctly.

VCC can open to the first VCC organization it finds for the account. If a user is logged in as an account admin, VCC may land in that first-found organization rather than the intended production organization.

If the VCC interface is pointed to a different organization, it may show different feed and workflow states than the intended production environment. Users should verify they are working in the correct VCC organization so they are viewing and editing the intended feeds and workflows.

VCC account visibility is controlled at the account level. The Account Manager and account contacts decide which organizations are enabled in VCC. It is common for VCC to be used with a single production account and optionally a development account, so only the organizations deemed necessary are enabled. If additional organizations should be visible in VCC, the Account Manager must be contacted to start the process to enable them. If an organization is not yet configured for VCC, the implementations team may need to perform setup before that organization is available in VCC.
