This article describes how SMS message prefixes behave in Everbridge Suite, including where the SMS Message Prefix is configured and when it is applied to outbound SMS notifications.
Description
Everbridge Suite supports SMS notification prefixes to help recipients identify the source of messages. The prefix appears at the beginning of SMS notifications and is used to provide context and legitimacy so recipients can recognize authorized crisis management service messages.
An SMS message prefix can include organization-specific text so recipients can distinguish messages. The identifying text can be part of the SMS body itself rather than relying solely on the Title field. The prefix can be used to prepend an organization short name automatically.
The SMS Message Prefix feature is configured in the Everbridge Manager Portal. You can locate the SMS message prefix settings in the Settings tab under Organization > Notifications > SMS Options. In this area, there is an SMS message prefix field.
