Troubleshooting Issue
Users of Everbridge Suite's Advanced Reporting module may encounter issues with dashboard filters not being preserved when creating reports. This can lead to inconsistent data across charts and inaccurate report generation.
Root Cause
Several potential issues can cause filter changes to be lost:
Filters not explicitly set in the Schedule dialog
Filters not applied to all relevant tiles/charts
Failure to save both filter and dashboard changes
Incorrect application of filters before report generation
Additionally, in the current Advanced Reporting module, selected variables are displayed in rows by default, and users cannot automatically change the view to display variables as columns.
Solution
To properly set and save filters in Everbridge Advanced Reporting dashboards, follow these steps:
Edit the dashboard
Click the three-dot menu next to the filter
Edit the filter settings
Ensure the filter is applied to all desired tiles/visualizations
Save the filter changes
Save the dashboard changes
Before generating a report, double-check that the filters are applied correctly to ensure accurate data representation. This process ensures that all charts and visualizations in your dashboard use the same filter settings, providing consistent data across your reports.
Additional Information
Everbridge offers advanced reporting capabilities that allow users to schedule and generate reports. For specific details on setting up scheduled reports, it is recommended to consult the Advanced Reporting Guide or contact Everbridge Technical Support for assistance.
Users should be aware of certain limitations in Everbridge's Advanced Reporting:
The Analytics Dashboard does not have a built-in 'last day of month' scheduling option. As a workaround, users can create multiple reports to capture the exact last day of each month.
Not all data fields are searchable or includable in reports
Some contact information (like email addresses) may not be directly accessible
Reports may require additional manual filtering or post-processing to get desired results
If you encounter these limitations, consider submitting a Request for Enhancement (RFE) to the engineering team for potential inclusion in future updates.
