Topic
Configuring a Safety Threshold.
Description
When a Contact in your organization activates a Safety Button on their mobile device, the button sends important information that can be viewed in the Everbridge Manager Portal. Safety Thresholds can be configured with specific criteria, to automatically launch a communication when a button has been activated, providing key stakeholders with awareness so the appropriate follow-up actions can be taken. This tutorial will guide you through the steps for creating a Safety Threshold for when a Safety Button has been activated.
1. Navigate
Start by navigating from your Organization's Settings menu to Interactive Visibility, select Safety and then select Thresholds.
2. Event Source
To set the criteria for launching a communication, you will first need to select the Event Source of the Safety Button activation from the drop-down list.
3. Type
Depending on the Event Source you selected, select the Safety Button Type from the options displayed.
4. Button Name
If the Event Source is Mobile App and depending on the Button Type selected above, choose the desired Button Name from the list of your preconfigured buttons.
5. Record Type
Optionally, you can designate specific Contact Record Types which can trigger this threshold. When the option is not checked, Contacts of any Record Type can be the trigger.
6. Senders
If needed, you can further restrict who can trigger this threshold by selecting specific Individuals, Groups or Rules. Leave this option unchecked if no restrictions are needed.
7. Message Location
If the threshold should only be triggered when the specified contacts are within a designated area or location, you can set the Message Location with a shape or within the proximity to an address. Otherwise, you can leave this option unchecked.
8. Template
Next, select a Notification or Incident template to launch when the criteria set for the threshold has been met.
9. Search
Search for the preconfigured template you want to launch,
10. Choose
and click the blue "+" icon to choose the template.
11. Name
Finally, name your Safety Threshold and click Save.
Now, when a contact that meets your selected criteria activates the button selected in your threshold, the designated contacts in the chosen template will receive an alert communication. Thank you for watching!
