Problem
Emails sent through Everbridge's custom email editor may not display formatting correctly for recipients using Outlook. This issue is particularly noticeable with email elements like logos, which appear centered in the editor but not in the received email.
Root Cause
The root cause of this issue lies in how Outlook processes and displays HTML emails. Outlook has its unique way of interpreting HTML and CSS, which can lead to discrepancies between how an email looks in the Everbridge editor and how it appears when viewed in Outlook.
Solution
To ensure that your email formatting, including the centered logo, displays correctly in Outlook:
Permit List the Domain: Request your IT team to permit list the Everbridge email domain. This solution helps to prevent formatting issues for all recipients using Outlook by ensuring that emails from Everbridge are trusted and not altered by any email filtering or processing.
Workaround
Add the Sender to Contacts: Have the recipient add the 'noreply@everbridge.net' email address to their Outlook contacts. This action can help Outlook to better process and display the email formatting as intended, or
Adjust your email design to be more compatible with Outlook's limitations.
