Configuring Asset Types.

Description

This guide will walk you through configuring Asset Types in Everbridge. Asset Types need to be defined before adding any Assets to your Organization. Please note, not all Everbridge solutions include Assets or the option to create additional Assets Types.

Go to manager.everbridge.net

1. Navigate

To get started, access your organization settings.

Then navigate to the "Contacts/Assets" menu

and select "Asset Types."

Click "New Asset Type" to begin.

Select the desired Asset Template from the drop-down list.

6. SC Buildings

NOTE: The Asset Type for Safety Connection Buildings can only be configured once. All other Asset Types may be used multiple times. Safety Connection Assets will appear on the Universe Map and in Visual Command Center, and can be linked with Contacts as Static or Dynamic Locations. The other Asset Types will appear only in Visual Command Center, and cannot be linked with Contact locations.

7. Attributes

Each template type is predefined with standard attributes.

8. View

Expand to view the list of Standard Attributes for the Asset Type. These attributes cannot be edited or removed.

9. Name

Next, give the Asset Type a name.

10. Icon

If the Safety Connection Building Asset type was selected, you can select an appropriate icon for the Universe Map. For non-Safety Connection Building types, the icon can be modified in the Visual Command Center Admin Console.

11. Alertable

Toggle the "Alertable" setting to Yes or No, depending on if you want Visual Command Center to generate alerts when Assets of this type may be at risk.

12. Save

Click "Save" to finish creating the Asset Type.
