Creating a Saved View
Description
Follow along and create a saved view.
Go to vcc.everbridge.net
1. Review Map
Saved views are helpful when you want to monitor a specific area or event. To do so, pan and zoom the map to a particular area. Or, type a location in the search bar.
2. Choose Location
For this example, I will search for New York City.
3. Find Location
4. Select Location
And select it from the search results. Once selected, the map will move to this location.
5. Enable Alerts
Enable the Alerts feed.
6. Context Feed
Open the Context feed and scroll down.
7. Traffic Cameras
And enable the Traffic Cameras Feed. Now we can see any generated Alerts as well as Traffic Cameras as we visualize New York City.
8. Review Selections
Since I will be looking at New York City Traffic often, I want to be able to come back to this view. Instead of having to re-select these elements each time, I can save this combination into a saved view for quick navigation.
9. Open Menu
To do so, let's create our saved view. Click the three dot menu.
10. Saved Views
And select Saved Views.
11. Create View
Click New.
12. Enter Name
And give it a name. For this example I will name it "New York City Traffic".
13. Enable View
Select the "Visible to others" checkbox so that others can use it, too.
14. Click Save
And finally, click save.
15. Close Overlay
Your saved view is now available for use. Close out of the overlay window to test it.
16. Navigate
Navigate to a new location.
17. Move Map
For this test I will navigate to California.
18. Find Location
19. Select Location
20. Review Location
Now that we are in a new location, we can test the New York City saved view.
21. Open Menu
Click the three dot menu.
22. Saved Views
And select Saved Views.
23. Launch View
Click "Go" to launch the saved view.
24. Review Map
And see that you are transported back to New York City with the Alerts and Traffic cameras enabled.
Congratulations on creating a saved view!
