How to reopen a closed incident in Everbridge Suite.

Description

It is possible to reopen closed incidents, but this capability depends on the user's role and permissions.

Typically, only users with the Incident Admin or Operator role or those with specific permissions in their role can reopen incidents. Account Admins cannot reopen closed Incidents.

To reopen a closed Incident, the following conditions must be met:

  • Role Permissions: The user must have the appropriate permissions. Generally, the Incident Admin role has the ability to reopen incidents. For other roles, such as Incident Operator, the permission to reopen incidents must be explicitly granted.2024-08-07_15-43-58.png

  • Incident Status: The incident must be in a closed state. An incident that is already open cannot be reopened.

  • Permission Settings: Account Admins can enable the 'Reopen Incidents' feature for Organization Admins. Users who need this ability should contact their Account Admin to request this permission.

If a user does not have the necessary permissions, they will not be able to reopen the incident.

If the above conditions are met to reopen a closed incident, navigate to the incident list or the incident details page and follow the Reopen Incident Workflow.
