EBS: Scheduling Feature “Link a Group to this Shift” Allows Multiple Groups to Be Selected

Topic:

Link a Group to this Shift scheduling feature.

Description:

The Link a Group to this Shift scheduling feature under Contacts > Scheduling > Edit/Create Calendar allows you to link multiple groups to a shift.

What You Can Do:

From the scheduling staffing user interface:

  • You can link more than one group to a shift. Contacts who can be staffed on the layers will be the union of the contacts of all the groups linked to the shift.
  • When adding or removing groups linked to the shift, current staffing (layers and overrides) will only be impacted if the shift becomes invalid.
  • If a contact staffed on a shift is removed from the group linked to that shift, the contact will not be notified anymore.

Why This May Be Important to You:

You can have contacts staffed in your shift belonging to different groups and filter contacts eligible to be staffed on shift. You do not have to edit all schedules when a contact staffed on a shift is removed from a group linked to that shift.
