Question:
When creating a recurring Notification, is it sent out based on the sender's time zone or the recipients' time zones?
Answer:
Recurring Notifications will be sent based on the Time Zone selection in the Send & Save section of the Notification form or template. By default, this time zone is based on the time zone of the user (or role) creating the notification, not the location of the recipients.
When you schedule a recurring Notification, the system evaluates the audience and the schedule at the moment each occurrence is sent:
Time zone for send time: The scheduled send time is interpreted in the scheduler's selected time zone. The system does not automatically adjust the send time for each recipient's local time zone.
Who receives the notification: At the send time, the system resolves the audience based on the configuration that exists at that moment. Any assignment or group membership must be active at the actual send time in order for those recipients to be included.
If you want recipients in a different time zone to receive the message at their local time you have two options:
Convert the time manually: Keep your user time zone as is and schedule the notification for the equivalent time in your own time zone.
For scenarios where you are notifying multiple countries or time zones for the same event, you do not need to use recurring notifications solely for that purpose. Instead, convert each target country's intended send time to your local time zone and use the Later scheduling option (or separate scheduled notifications) for each desired send time.
