Why doesn't an airport IATA Code appear in the drop-down list for an Expected Location for a contact? (Contacts/Assets > Contacts > Contact List > {Edit contact} > Dynamic Location(s)  - Expected > + New expected location.)

Answer:

Private and regional airports may not have an IATA code. This is most likely the reason the airport IATA code is not found when you enter the three-letter code in the Location Name search box.

IATA (International Air Transport Association) is a trade association that represents commercial airlines. IATA codes are mainly used for ticketing and travel itineraries on commercial flights. The assignment of these codes is administered by the Montreal-based International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the codes cover locations (mainly airports) around the globe.
