EB360: The Time Zone on Weather Alerts Does Not Match the Time Zone in Which Notifications Are Sent in Everbridge Suite

Topic

The time zone on Weather Alerts doesn't match the time zone in which Notifications are sent in Everbridge Suite.

Description

Automated Weather Alert attachments' beginning and ending times use the Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) standard, while notifications may be displayed in your local time zone.

For example, a Weather Alert Notification was sent using Eastern Standard Time (EST):

The advisory attached to the Notification displays the beginning and end times in UTC:

This is expected behavior for automated weather alerts.

Note that time discrepancies may also appear in Everbridge reports if your user profile has a different timezone city setting than expected. Additionally, some email clients may automatically convert timestamps to the recipient's local time, while others display the original timestamp.

For more information on the UTC standard, please see: https://www.timeanddate.com/time/aboututc.html.
