EBS: What Happens to Geocoded Addresses During a Contact Upload in Everbridge Suite?

Question:

What happens to geocoded addresses during a contact upload in Everbridge?

Answer:

Starting March 15, 2023, the behavior that occurs during a contact upload when an existing contact has a geocoded address will change.

New behavior as of March 15, 2023:

  1. A contact has lat/long coordinates on their record
  2. The contact is included in an upload file and the file is uploaded
  3. The contact's lat/long coordinates are kept in their record
  4. The contact can be seen on the Universe
  5. When the contact is geocoded, the lat/long coordinates are modified on the contact's record with the value from the geocoding

Old behavior:

  1. A contact has lat/long coordinates on their record
  2. The contact is included in an upload file and the file is uploaded
  3. The contact's lat/long coordinates are removed from the record
  4. The contact cannot be seen on the Universe
  5. When the contact is geocoded, the lat/long coordinates are added to the contact's record
