Question:
What happens to geocoded addresses during a contact upload in Everbridge?
Answer:
Starting March 15, 2023, the behavior that occurs during a contact upload when an existing contact has a geocoded address will change.
New behavior as of March 15, 2023:
- A contact has lat/long coordinates on their record
- The contact is included in an upload file and the file is uploaded
- The contact's lat/long coordinates are kept in their record
- The contact can be seen on the Universe
- When the contact is geocoded, the lat/long coordinates are modified on the contact's record with the value from the geocoding
Old behavior:
- A contact has lat/long coordinates on their record
- The contact is included in an upload file and the file is uploaded
- The contact's lat/long coordinates are removed from the record
- The contact cannot be seen on the Universe
- When the contact is geocoded, the lat/long coordinates are added to the contact's record
