EBS: What Should Users Do if Their Everbridge Account Data or Login Credentials Are Compromised?

Question

What should users do if their Everbridge account data or login credentials are compromised?

Answer

If account data or login credentials (usernames, passwords) are compromised, immediately call the Everbridge support line at +1 818-230-9798.

Gather and be ready to provide the following information:

  • The name of your account, and the organization ID.
  • The date and time of the suspected incident.
  • Any usernames believed to have been compromised.
  • Account or user activity which demonstrates a security incident has occurred.
  • Whether or not the incident is still active.

The Everbridge technician will gather the information above and determine if the incident is suspected to still be an active breach. If so, the first course of action will be to mitigate the suspected breach by disabling user logins, resetting passwords, etc.

The technician will then engage the Everbridge Security team through internal processes guidance on the next steps. During this time, expect hourly updates 24x7 until the threat is no longer active.

Once the incident is confirmed to no longer be active, Everbridge will complete the forensic process to determine how and why the breach occurred, what recovery efforts are necessary, and how it can be prevented in the future. Expect daily updates until the forensic process is complete, and all relevant details have been provided.
