How to join an Incident Chat as an Everbridge User from the Manager Portal.

Everbridge Users can join a live Incident Chat from the Everbridge Manager Portal if their user profile has been linked to a contact in the Organization where the Incident was sent from.

Users who attempt to access an Incident Chat when they have not been linked to a contact in the Organization will receive an error. The following knowledge article provides steps on how to resolve this error: EBS: Live Incident Chat Error Code in Everbridge Suite - 'To participate in live chat, your account must be linked to a contact in this organization.'

If you have access to the Account level of the Everbridge Manager Portal, you can link a user account to an existing contact so the user can join incident chats:

  1. Log in to the Account level of the Everbridge Manager Portal.

  2. Select Users.

  3. Click the pencil (edit) icon next to the user you want to link.

  4. Choose Link with an existing contact record.

  5. Under Search Contacts, select the appropriate Organization (the Organization that owns the incident).

  6. Search for the contact name.

  7. When the contact is found, click Link.

After the user is linked to the contact in the Organization that owns the incident, the user should be able to join the incident chat.

To access the Incident Chat via the Manager Portal user interface, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to the Manager Portal and select your Organization.

  2. Hover over the Incidents tab from the top menu bar and navigate to the Open / History from the drop-down menu.

  3. Select the Open option next to Viewing: and click the name of the Incident.

  4. Click on the Live Chat hyperlink.
