Question:
What level of logging exists in Everbridge Suite for user access and usage of system?
Answer:
Actions that generate records in the database are logged. Examples of such actions are:
logging in and out
record deletion
creating custom reports
sending or scheduling notifications
adding or deleting a contact to or from a group
Non-intrusive activities are not logged. Examples of such activities are:
opening a record
page navigation
reading a report
There are some limitations when retrieving audit logs in Everbridge. The system cannot generate backend reports for very large date ranges, particularly those spanning several months. For comprehensive log retrieval, it's recommended to:
Use the Manager Portal to generate logs
Pull logs in smaller time increments (preferably a month at a time)
Be prepared to compile and filter the data manually in a spreadsheet
Important note about user account modifications: If you make changes to a user account, such as re-adding a user or modifying roles, these actions can overwrite existing log data which makes it difficult or impossible for Everbridge Support to trace the original cause of account changes. To preserve log integrity, report any unexpected account issues immediately and avoid making account modifications before consulting with Everbridge Support.
If you need access to specific logs of system usage, please reach out to your Everbridge Account Manager, or contact Everbridge Technical Support.
