Topic:

Understanding the Start and Attempt Times in the Detailed Notification Analysis (DNA) Report in Everbridge Suite.

Description:

Explanations of the Start and Attempt Times shown in DNA Reports.

Differences Between the Start and Attempt Times

The DNA Report shows when attempts are made per delivery method, based on the Start Time of the Notification in five-minute intervals.

For example, XX amount of attempts are made at the initial Attempt Time which is five minutes after the Start Time of the Notification, because it can take up to five minutes to complete a full interval. Then, five minutes after the first Attempt Time, another Attempt Time is recorded with YY amount of attempts. The number of attempts depends on the number of contacts and delivery methods used for the Notification.

There are three ways to access the DNA Report in the Manger Portal detailed in the steps below.

First Attempt Time in DNA Report Is Later Than Notification Start Time

The DNA Report reveals key information regarding Notifications detailed below.

  1. The Attempts Over Time graph displays a sampling of the number of attempts per delivery path per contact for all delivery paths used in a Notification in five-minute intervals.
  2. The first dot on the graph represents how many Notifications were sent during the first five-minute interval. The next dot represents the second batch of Notifications sent during the next five minutes, and the interval repeats until the last attempt is made, which could be completed in less than five minutes.
  3. The initial time of the first attempt made to reach contacts is shown on the left hand side under the Details column in the Start Time row. The first Attempt Time represents the completion of the first five-minute interval of Notifications sent, which is five minutes after the Start Time.
