Single Sign-On (SSO) Enable Signature Validation Feature in Everbridge Suite

Description

The Manager Portal Single Sign-On settings page at the account level includes the Enable Signature Validation option:

NOTE:
This setting applies only to Manager Portal Single Sign-On at the account level. Member Portal security settings at the account or organization level are not affected.

Purpose of the Feature

This feature provides an optional security enhancement for Single Sign-On configurations. When enabled, the system validates the SAML assertion signature to ensure that authentication requests are verified and secure.

Impact

Existing Single Sign-On configurations are not affected unless Enable Signature Validation is selected. Enabling this option adds an additional validation step during authentication.

Configuration Requirements

Implementation of this feature requires coordination with the identity provider configuration to ensure support for signed SAML assertions. Configuration labels and options may vary by identity provider.

If the identity provider is already configured to send signed assertions, no additional changes are required beyond enabling the setting in the Manager Portal.

If signed assertions are not currently configured and the feature is required, complete the following steps:

  1. Update the identity provider configuration to enable signed SAML assertions.
  2. Upload the updated metadata file to the Manager Portal Single Sign-On settings page.
  3. Select the Enable Signature Validation checkbox to enforce signature validation during Single Sign-On authentication.
