EBS: Rules and Additional Information Values in Everbridge Suite

Topic:

Rules and additional information values in Everbridge.

Will a rule's condition match values across different types of additional information display formats?

Description:

A rule's condition will not match values across different types of additional information display formats.

Additional Information - Textbox

As an example, additional information options were created: the first using the "Textbox" format, and the second using the "Single Selection List" format.

  • The "Textbox" option will allow a user to enter any desired value.
Additional Information - Single Selection
  • The "Single Selection List" option will allow a user to choose between two values: Active and Inactive.
Rule Using Textbox

A rule to find any contacts with an additional information value of "Active" will only find contacts that have the specific additional information option in their contact profile:

  • Using the "Textbox" additional information and entering "Active" as the value will only return contacts that have the "Textbox" additional information option in their contact profile.
Rule Using Single Selection
  • Using the "Single Selection List" additional information and selection "Active" as the value will only return contacts that have the "Single Selection List" additional information option in their contact profile.

Both contacts will not be returned in either rule, even though both contacts have additional information values of "Active." Avoid duplicating additional information values so rules find all necessary contacts.
