EBS: Microsoft Teams Limitations Impacting Everbridge Smart Channel MS Teams Integrations

The following Microsoft Teams limitations could have an impact on the Everbridge Smart Channel "MS Teams" integration. If you encounter any of these issues, make sure to check the Microsoft Teams limitations.

Issue

Limitation

Description

Number of channels per team

200

The number of channels per team includes archived and deleted channels up to 30 days after deletion.

Number of teams a user can create

Subject to a 250 object limit

Any directory object in Microsoft Entra ID counts towards this limit. Global administrators are exempt from this limit, as are apps calling Microsoft Graph using "application permissions".

Everbridge uses "delegated permissions". This means the "signed-in user" who set up the integration must be changed every 250 teams/channel created (if you are using the option to create a team/channel for an incident). The integration will have to be revoked and reset with a different user.

Number of people in a video or audio call from chat

20

If you want to launch a meeting (video or audio call) from a chat, you will be limited to 20 people in the call.

Microsoft Teams will not support Internet Explorer 11

Starting 2020–Nov–30

Although Microsoft 365 apps and services will not support Internet Explorer 11 starting 2021–Aug–17, Microsoft Teams will not support Internet Explorer 11 starting earlier, on 2020-Nov-30. You might encounter issues when navigating from the Everbridge Manager Portal to MS Teams.

NOTE: Internet Explorer 11 is a component of the Windows operating system and follows the Lifecycle Policy for the product on which it is installed. Microsoft recommends using Microsoft Edge as your default browser and supports Internet Explorer 11 for backward compatibility.

Refer to Limits and specifications for Microsoft Teams for further details.
