Topic:

How to send an image via SMS (Short Message Service) using the Web Page Message feature in Everbridge Suite.

Description:

SMS messages sent to contacts will not include images attached to a notification or incident. This is due to SMS is a text-based protocol.

You may have received an image or other multimedia on your phone in what appears to be an SMS message. Such messages are sent using MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service), typically used by Android phones, or iMessage used by Apple phones. Although these messages arrive using the same messaging application on your phone, they do not use the SMS protocol.

Images can however  be included as part of a web page, which is referenced/linked in an Everbridge SMS message. This is done through the Web Page Message feature, which when selected, will generate a link in recipient SMS messages to allow them to view the image or other multimedia.

NOTE:

This Web Page Message is only available for Standard type messages. It is not available for Polling or Conference Bridge type messages.
