EBS: How to Send Notifications to TTY Devices From Everbridge Suite

Topic:

How to send notifications to TTY devices from Everbridge Suite.

Description:

A TTY device is a special device that lets people who are deaf, hard of hearing, or speech-impaired use the telephone to communicate, by allowing them to type messages back and forth to one another instead of talking and listening. Everbridge only sends standard notifications to TTY devices and the message must be in the English language. The message is sent to a third party which then routes the message to the TTY device.

Follow the steps below to enable TTY devices as a delivery method:

  1. Log in to the Manager Portal.
  2. Click on the Settings tab at the top of the page.
  3. Click on Notifications from the menu on the left.
  4. Click Delivery Methods from the sub-menu.
  5. Select TTY from the drop down menu.
  6. Enter a prompt to describe the TTY device.
  7. Click the Add link.

With the TTY delivery method active, device numbers can now be entered for contacts and used for notifications.
