EBS: Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) Response Status Codes

Question

What do the numerical codes mean on pages that aren't loading?

Answer

Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) response status codes are used to communicate information, success, redirection, and client and server error statuses.

An HTTP status code might be encountered within Everbridge Suite if a server becomes unavailable due to maintenance.

The Wikipedia article found at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_HTTP_status_codes contains a thorough explanation of the various error codes that can be encountered, such as:

  • 301 Moved Permanently
  • 302 Found
  • 403 Forbidden
  • 404 Not Found
  • 500 Internal Server Error
  • 502 Bad Gateway
  • 503 Service Unavailable
  • 504 Gateway Timeout
