How to rename a conference bridge in Everbridge Suite.

Description:

There are three types of conference bridges in Everbridge Suite: Everbridge-provided default, custom, and Smart Conference. Please follow the directions below for the kind of conference bridge you would like to rename.

Custom Conference Bridge

A custom conference bridge is a client-configured bridge that Everbridge has not provided. 

  1. Log in to the Manager Portal and select the desired organization from the upper right-hand corner.
  2. Click the Settings tab from the top of the page.
  3. From the left, click Notifications.
  4. From the sub-menu, click Conference Bridges.
  5. Click on the pencil icon next to the desired conference bridge.
  6. Rename the conference bridge and click on the save icon.
Rename Custom Conference Bridge

Everbridge-Provided Default Conference Bridge

An Everbridge-provided default conference bridge is one of the four bridges that are provisioned when an organization is created. They are named "Everbridge Conference Bridge." Unlike the instructions above, there is no pencil icon to edit the Everbridge-provided default bridges. To rename a default bridge, a new custom bridge would need to be configured with the desired name and the conference number and access code information from the Everbridge-provided bridge. 

  1. Log in to the Manager Portal and select the desired organization from the upper right-hand corner.
  2. Click the Settings tab from the top of the page.
  3. From the left, click Notifications.
  4. From the sub-menu, click Conference Bridges.
  5. Take note of the Conference Number and Conference Access Code for the Everbridge-provided bridge you would like to rename. 
  6. At the bottom of the conference bridge window, enter the desired bridge name in the first empty box and select United States from the dropdown. In the second empty box, enter the Conference Number you copied from the Everbridge-provided bridge. 
New Bridge Creation
  1. Select the blue Wizard button and configure it as outlined below. 
    1. Wait for 4 second(s)
    2. Dial access code {Conference Access Code from Everbridge-provided bridge}
    3. Dial #
    4. Wait for 3 second(s)
    5. Dial 1
  2. Select the Add button to save your newly configured bridge. 
  3. It is recommended that you send a notification to test that this new bridge is operating as expected. Then you may delete the old Everbridge-provided bridge by selecting the trash can icon next to the bridge in question.

Smart Conference Bridge

A Smart Conference bridge cannot be renamed through the Manager Portal. Please contact Everbridge Technical Support for assistance. A support case can easily be logged in the Support Center by following the instructions in this article: 000051324 - How to open a Support Case in the Everbridge Support Center
