Question
How can a user with Single Sign-On (SSO) credentials launch a notification using the Emergency Live Operator (ELO) procedure?
Answer
The Emergency Live Operator procedure requires the hint question to be answered correctly in order to grant access to send a notification. Utilizing SSO does not include setting up a hint question.
SSO users can use the Emergency Live Operator procedure by creating what is known as a Break Glass account. See knowledge article EBS: Single Sign-On (SSO) Break Glass Access in Everbridge Suite for more information on Break Glass accounts. An organization administrator can add the desired amount of Break Glass users to the organization that would have the ability to use the Emergency Live Operator procedure.
If your organization uses SSO and you want your team to be able to launch Critical Events (for example, incidents or scenarios initiated via ELO), role and permission changes for SSO accounts must be performed by your organization’s administrators. Ask your administrator to update the relevant user roles so they include the appropriate Critical Event launch permissions. If your administrators need additional help configuring these permissions, they can contact Everbridge Technical Support, who can escalate to Engineering if necessary.
