EBU: Creating a Test Account in Everbridge Suite for Support Center and Everbridge University Access

Topic

Now that EBSC Direct Access (formerly Client Portal SSO) is enabled, how can I grant access to the Support Center and Everbridge University before granting user access to Mass Notification?

How can I setup a test account for early access to the Support Center or Everbridge University?

Description

NOTE:

Access to group and user management depends on your user role. If you are unable to access group or user management, contact your organization's administrator.

An Everbridge Mass Notification (MN) user account is generally required in order to access the Support Center or Everbridge University. If you want to grant access to the Support Center before granting access to any live MN abilities, follow these steps to create a test MN user account.

  1. Log in to the Manager Portal (AKA Mass Notification, or MN) and select the appropriate organization from the far upper-left of the page.

  2. Choose the Contacts tab from the top of the page.

  3. Choose the Groups sub-tab from the upper-left of the page.

  4. Choose the Add button to add a new group, and give it a name such as "Test" or "Training" as desired.

  5. Choose the Settings tab from the left of the page.

  6. Choose the Access sub-tab from the left of the page.

  7. Choose the Roles sub-tab from the left of the page.

  8. Choose the Add button to add a new role.

  9. Set the Role Type to "Group Manager" and give it a name such as "Test" or "Training" as desired.

  10. Under the Resources tab, select the group you created in step #4 above.

  11. Choose the Save button to continue.

After you have created your test group and role, you can create test accounts for any of your org users with their real names and email addresses, assigning them to this test role. Your test users can then access the Support Center and Everbridge University.

Enabling Everbridge University Access for a User

To specifically enable Everbridge University access for a user:

  1. Assign the user a role with minimal system permissions (such as Mass Notification Operator)

  2. In the user's profile, toggle on access to Everbridge University

  3. Ensure the role is configured to restrict access to other system modules and features
