How can some contacts be excluded when a shape is used to select contacts for a Notification in Everbridge Suite?
Description
Contacts can be excluded from a shape selection in two ways:
- Excluding contacts by name or address.
- Excluding contacts with additional shapes.
Follow the sections below:
Excluding contacts by name or address
- Log in to the Manager Portal and select the appropriate Organization from the upper right-hand corner.
- Click on the Universe tab from the top of the page.
- From the Select Contacts dropdown menu, select Draw shapes.
- Draw the desired shape(s) to select contacts.
- From the Select Contacts dropdown menu, select Exclude Contacts.
- Select the desired filter and enter the search information. The following filters are available:
- Full Name allows you to search contacts by their full or first name.
- Street Address allows you to search contacts by their full or partial street address.
- Click on the magnifying glass icon to generate your search results.
- Select the contacts desired to exclude by selecting the corresponding checkboxes.
- Click Exclude.
- Click New Notification from the upper right-hand corner to create a new Notification with the selected contacts.
Excluding contacts with additional shapes
- Log in to the Manager Portal and select the desired Organization from the upper right-hand corner.
- Click on the Universe tab from the top of the page.
- From the Select Contacts dropdown menu, select Draw shapes.
- Draw the desired shape(s) to select contacts.
- Draw another shape that covers the the area for contacts to be excluded.
- Click on You've selected x contact(s) from the top of the map.
- From the Selected Contacts pane, select the checkbox next to the shape containing the contacts desired to exclude.
- Under Type, select Exclude from the dropdown menu.
- Click on New Notification from the upper right-hand corner to create a new Notification with the selected contacts.
