Root Cause

This error means the Contact upload file contains one or more columns that has a header that is misspelled or otherwise does not match an accepted upload file header. Check the Error Message column under Header Errors for the column/header affected.

Solution

Update the Contact upload file with the misspelled or invalid column headers. The solution is best illustrated with examples.

Example 1:

For example, the following file would cause the error above:

Note that in the column header Groupsss is misspelled and should be Groups. Additionally, ABC123 is not a valid header. Column headers need to match exactly the format provided in the Upload template. Unless your organization is using the Custom Upload Mapping feature that will be shown in the second example.  The solution in this case would be to download the Upload template, observe the spelling, spacing and capitalization of the headers and change your Upload file to match that format. In this instance, Groupsss should be Groups and ABC123 should be Location 1.
