VCC: The Global Intelligence Operations Center (GIOC) Feed for Visual Command Center (VCC) Is Missing

Problem:

The Global Intelligence Operations Center (GIOC) feed for Visual Command Center (VCC) is missing.

Root Cause:

The RIMC: Advisories and RIMC: Global Flashpoints feeds replaced the GIOC feed.

Solution:

Everbridge recommends those that used GIOC data as their primary risk event source, review their alert configuration and consider migrating the alert settings from RIMC Powered by NC4 to the other RIMC feeds.

Configuring the RIMC Feeds

Follow the steps below to set the alerting settings for the RIMC feeds:

Admin Console
  1. Log in to Visual Command Center SaaS.
  2. Click the menu icon from the upper right-hand side of the page.
  3. Scroll down and click Admin Console.
Data
  1. The page will open the Admin Console, then click Data.
RIMC Powered by NC4 Data Settings
  1. Under the My Data tab, select RIMC Powered by NC4.
  2. Use the RIMC Configuration Worksheet attached to lower right-hand side of this article to record the current configuration.
RIMC Data Settings
  1. Select RIMC: Advisories.
  2. Make the selections recorded in the RIMC Configurations Worksheet as desired.
  3. Click Save.
Repeat steps 7-9 for RIMC: Global Flashpoints.

Enabling the RIMC Feeds

    Feed Settings
    1. Select one of the RIMC feeds.
    2. Click Feed Settings in the upper right-hand of the Manage Data page.
      Enable Feed
      1. Toggle the feed to Enabled.
      Optionally, select which user roles may see the feed.
      1. Drag the RIMC feeds on the left in the order in which they should appear in the feed control.
      2. Choose Save.

      Everbridge recommends monitoring the volume and relevance of the alerts received for RIMC events for several days. Depending on the needs of an organization, adjustments may need to be made to the impact radius or the severity threshold for some event categories.
