VCC: Selecting ‘Road’ or ‘Lowlight’ Map View Over China Places Assets in the Water

Problem:

When selecting "ROAD" or "LOWLIGHT" map view over China in Visual Command Center (VCC), several assets are placed in the water.

Root Cause:

This only affects the assets in China. This is due to Chinese government obfuscation of geo-coded assets. Here is a link to an article discussing this topic: Why GPS Coordinates Look Wrong on Maps of China.

Solution:

Since the street overlays are shifted relative to the satellite imagery, any data that VCC places on the map will appear shifted for assets in China. There is no solution to this issue at this time.
