What's New in Mass Notification Platform

All features listed in this section are accessible in all products unless otherwise noted for a feature.

Resident Connection for State and Local Governments - United States

Local Government agencies within the United States that deliver life-safety communications have a new way to reach a higher proportion of their population.

Residence Connection is now integrated into Mass Notification and Incident Communications as a premium add-on feature, enabling organizations to access additionally verified and localized landline and VoIP phone contacts, including SMS and voice to mobile devices in their jurisdiction.

Within this release, users will see enhancements that include:

Advanced Search and Contact Filters - Updates to List of Fields (Last Modified On and Geocode Precision)

Resident Connection - United States

Everbridge provides a national resident and business database available to all local public safety agencies for life-safety use that reduces reliance on opt-in records. Local government agencies need to maximize reach into their communities for life-safety critical events.

Users can leverage the new premium feature within their Notifications or their Incidents user flows. This new feature provides State and Local Governments access to all the contacts they need for Imminent Threat to Life notifications.

Integration with Incident Communications

Mass Notification customers who use Incidents can configure Organizational Contacts and Resident Connection Contacts within Incident Templates and Incident Workflows.
Organizational Contacts, Residents, and Businesses from Resident Connection all visualized on a new and improved mapping interface for faster contact selection.

Improvements to the Mapping User Experience

For the Universe and Notification Map workflows:

Addressed mapping performance concerns raised by customers when moving/panning/zooming on the map when the boundary layer was activated.
The Map would not reload every time the map was moved. Only when additional data was required was it visualized.

Advanced Search and Contact Filters - Updates to List of Fields (Last Modified On and Geocode Precision)

Two new fields for Resident Connection are now available: Last Modified On and Geocode Precision. These fields are available for Advanced Search filters and Contact filters.

This is a premium feature for U.S.-based public safety agencies.

What's New in IT Alerting and Incident Communications

Sync Group Lookup Properties Values

You can Export and Import your group lookup properties to/from a CSV file. Upon import, new properties are created, a list of values for the existing properties is updated, and group mapping is updated.

Sync Group Lookup Properties Values

You can now programmatically remove values from properties without impacting your existing incident rules.

This feature is available at no additional cost to all clients using IT Alerting or using the Incidents feature.

Minor Improvements to Existing Features - Resident Connection - U.S.

Manager Portal	Resident Connection - U.S.	Upgraded Universe Map capabilities.	Upgraded Universe Map capabilities to leverage the integration of the Resident Connection database for faster and more targeted map-based notifications across Universe and Contact Map selections.
Manager Portal	Resident Connection - U.S.	Ability to rename drawn polygon shapefile names.	In the previous version, you were unable to rename drawn Shape1, Shape2, Shape3 default names. The only way you were able to rename drawn shapes was to save them in the Shape Library. Now, you can name the drawn shapes, save them, and retain those names.
Manager Portal	Resident Connection - U.S.	Universe and Notification Contact Selection has been enhanced to support selecting both Organizational Contacts and Resident Connection Contacts in one integrated workflow.	Updated Universe and Contact Selection provide users with faster access to all contacts for life-safety critical communications.

Known Issues in this Release

Mass Notification Platform	Resident Connection - U.S.	Custom Filter for Roles - MN Dispatcher and Incident Operator are currently not supported. This will be supported in Resident Connection - U.S.(Q2-2022).
Mass Notification Platform	Resident Connection - U.S.	Selecting and Sending Notifications to Resident Connection customers via ManageBridge is not supported. This will be supported in Resident Connection - U.S.(Q2-2022).
Mass Notification Platform	Resident Connection - U.S.	SMART Weather Inbound Automated NWS Alerts via polygon selecting both Organizational Contacts and Resident Connection Contacts is not supported. This will be supported in Resident Connection - U.S. (Q2-2022).
Mass Notification Platform	Resident Connection - U.S.	Universe widget support with Resident Connection - U.S. for the following Universe widgets are not supported in this release: IPAWS notifications Everbridge Member Messages Everbridge Network SMART Weather Alerting This will be supported in Resident Connection - U.S. (Q2-2022).
Mass Notification Platform	Resident Connection - U.S.	IPAWS notifications sent with a boundary polygon will error if sent with a polygon over 100 points for WEA or 200 points for EAS. Future enhancements to support automatically simplifying polygons to be IPAWS WEA- and EAS-compatible when utilizing any polygons (drawn, shape, or boundary) over 100 and 200 points. This will be supported in Resident Connection - U.S. (Q2-2022).
